Vandrezzer FC Bolus Tips for NPFL
Vandrezzer FC coach Tony Bolus has said his side will be the next Lagos club to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). The team won the Lagos State Football Association / Winners Golden Bet (LSFA / WGB) FA Cup final on Tuesday at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.
Vandrezzer FC beat Box2Box FC 1-0 with just one goal scored by Lekan Abdusalam in the 81st minute.
In the women’s category, Robo FC outscored Young Talents 4-0 in a one-sided game.
“Our victory was expected and winning the Lagos FA Cup, which had around 99 teams, is something I’m very happy with.
“The road to winning the cup was not easy, but we really prepared for it. I told the players the importance of the game and the strength of our opponents. We came back to them later by making two substitutions that did the magic.
“This cup is one of the greatest things I’ve ever accomplished. I’ve won a league before as an assistant coach, but I’m happier to win this one as a coach.
“My players are really preparing for the new league season and I hope, by the grace of God, we will be the next Lagos club to be in the NPFL,” he said.
Meanwhile, Winners Golden Group Marketing Director Patricia Popoola said the company was happy with the outcome of the competition.
“As the competition progresses each year, we’re going to expand on what we’ve done before. The company will not limit its efforts and our partnership with Lagos State FA is a way of giving back to society, as a means of corporate social responsibility.
“Most importantly, we were able to sponsor new stars to put themselves in the limelight at the end of the day,” she said.
