Liverpool legend, Steve Nicol, has urged Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe to leave the French Ligue 1 giants once the summer transfer window begins.
Nicol believes the atmosphere at PSG is ‘toxic’ and Mbappe should not stay at the club.
Mbappe’s current contract with PSG will expire at the end of the season.
The France World Cup winner is yet to sign a new deal with PSG and has drawn the interest of Real Madrid.
The 23-year-old will become a free agent at the end of the season and will be free to join another club of his choice.
Speaking on ESPN TV about Mbappe, Nicol said: “It just seems tough to stay somewhere where you might be the pin-up boy and everybody’s hero but when the other 10 stepping on the field are getting booed. There is a toxic atmosphere around the place, why would you stay?”
He added: “Because of the situation with Neymar and Messi, will they even be able to move them on with the money they are getting. I am not sure why I would stay at PSG where there is so much misery going on, it can’t be fun going in there everyday.”
