Messi was lucky to miss PSG’s 3-0 defeat to Monaco – Riolo

French journalist, Daniel Riolo, believes Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi was lucky to miss his side’s 3-0 defeat to Monaco in a Ligue 1 tie on Sunday.

Messi was not included in the match-day squad as PSG lost to Monaco at the weekend.

But Riolo said the seven-time Ballon d’ Or winner escaped the cataclysm of the day as PSG players who featured in the Monaco clash suffered huge criticism after the game.

“PSG have decided to be ridiculous and shameful until the end of the season? Is this the project? Neymar gave his life to come back against Real. The logic that he drags himself like a DH player on the field and forgiveness for DH players.

“If PSG and Qatar want to gain a minimum of respect, several players and coaches must go into the accounts and be cleared on the spot! And against Lorient, will people still come and explain to PSG supporters that you should not whistle? Say nothing.”

“Messi did well to have a sore stomach, he escaped the cataclysm of the day,” Riolo tweeted (as reported via le10sport) after the game defeat.
