EPL: Roy Keane sends message to Man United permanent manager over Ronaldo

Former Manchester United star, Roy Keane has told any manager that comes in as the permanent manager at Old Trafford that he must build the team around Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old Ronaldo scored his 59th career hat-trick on Saturday, helping Manchester United climb back into the top four with a 3-2 win over Tottenham.

There have been suggestions that Ronaldo may not fit into the style of play for whichever manager takes over at Old Trafford in the summer.

The Portugal international’s contract at Old Trafford ends next season and Keane is insisting the former Real Madrid star should be the focal point of the team.

“Games like tonight will help with his decision-making,” Keane told Sky Sports.

“But Ronaldo has a huge part to play in that and help the rebuilding of the club.

“You need Ronaldo in your team, he’s producing like that. Has Ronaldo been at his best this season?

“With Ronaldo in your team you have a better chance of winning football matches.”
